Cryptozoology is the study of still unknown creatures to science. For hundreds of years there has been sightings of many crypto creatures. The Mountain Gorilla was once a crypto creature, it was said to be a rumor with no proof. Until they discovered they existed. Will the same thing happen with other crypto creatures? Here is some of the most famous.
Bigfoot 
The most famous of crypto creatures in N. America. There has been many different names givin to this creature like, Sasquatch, Yeti, Abominal Snowman, and of course Bigfoot. It has been described to be between 6-11 feet tall, muscular built, and coverd in hair. Many stories and sightings have come out of the US and other countries. There is great debate on what is BIGFOOT exactly. Some say it's our missing link, others say bigfoot is an extraterestrial.
El Chupacabra 
One of the most talked about crypto creatures in the last decade has to be the Chupacabra. It has been described to be about 4 feet tall, with a large round head, a lipless mouth, sharp fangs and huge lidless red eyes. Sightings and slain livestock has been reported in Mexico and the South Western United States. It is said to suck out the blood of it's victims like a vampire. It is also known as the Goatsucker.
Loch Ness 
The most famous aquatic crypto creature, and she is rivaled only by bigfoot for the best known of crypto creatures. Nessie has been described as being between 20-35 feet long, greyish-green in color, with a long thin neck. Debate has been made against it's origin. Some think it's a once thought extinct aquatic dinosoar. Others think that it's a new species not yet discovered.
Jersey Devil 
The people of New Jersey has adopted this crypto creature as their mascot. The story goes, a woman gave birth to a cursed child. The womans name was Mrs. Leeds, she lived in the town of Leed Point. It is said she had 12 children, and when she found out she was pregnant with her 13th child, she got angry, and cursed "May the devil take this one!" Other stories say that the Devil was the baby's father. It was born a grotesque monster. It is described to have a horses head, the wings of a bat, hooves, and a serpent's tail. The monster was said to have flown off into the woods, where it has remained in hiding.
Thylacine 
Also know as the Tasmanian Tiger, is also a crypto creature. The Thylacine became extinct in 1936. A strange creature, it looks like a cross between a tiger, dingo, hyena and has a pouch like a kangaroo. The Thylacine is considered a crypto creature because hundreds of sightings have been reported in Tasmania and in Austrailia. Could this crypto creature still exist? Only time will tell.
